Spreading Love for SJIFF3 this Saturday!



Spread the Love, Love, Love! The 3rd San Joaquin International Film Festival is less than a week away, and along with our friends - we are in full force to spread the LOVE for the FESTIVAL near and far!


• 8:00AM - Catch special guests of The Haggin Museum and Sophoan Sorn on CW31's "GOOD DAY SACRAMENTO" with Alan Sanchez, to gain insights on the afternoon's Celtic Family Festival!

• 12:00PM - SJIFF3 Festival Guides will be available at various vendors and restaurants at Stockton's famed Miracle Mile district, including SJIFF3's Stockton home screen - the Stockton Empire Theatre. This upcoming Tuesday, February 16th, the theatre - which originally opened as simply, THE STOCKTON - will celebrate its 65th Anniversary! (site)

• 1:30PM - Everyone is Irish for the day at CELTIC FAMILY FESTIVAL at The Haggin Museum, held in conjunction with the SJIFF3. Come enjoy storytelling, games, music, dance, "manuscript" illumination and other hands-on art activities focusing on Celtic arts and culture. Members of the Black Irish Band will provide live music and Sophoan Sorn will give a special preview of the Film Festival and officially launch the SJIFF3 Festival Guide. This special afternoon at the museum is included with regular admission and no reservations are necessary. (details)

• 6:00PM - The Stockton Symphony's Sold-Out VALENTINE POPS concert will warm many hearts in the Atherton Auditorium at San Joaquin Delta College's Center for the Arts. The beautiful voices of Teri Bibb and Dennis McNeil will enchant with hit songs from "Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", "West Side Story", and "Man of La Mancha." Delight in love songs from "My Fair Lady", "Girl Crazy", "Carousel", "Brigadoon", "Kismet", and more! Ideal for every Broadway musical fan and incurable romantic. (details) All patrons in attendance will receive the SJIFF3 Festival Guide, which promotes the SJIFF3 Film Benefit presentation of "THEY CAME TO PLAY" (February 24th), with proceeds to support the Stockton Symphony. • 7:00PM - The State Theatre in Modesto, the new southern venue of SJIFF3 will feature a limited run of "Broken Embraces": the exquisite film - starring Penelope Cruz and directed by Spanish master Pedro Almodóvar - that will leave you spellbound. SJIFF3 Festival Guides will be showcased to patrons in the theater's foyer. (site)
